The Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and the constitutional systems of Member States guarantees the fundamental rights of EU citizens. If you are a defendant in a criminal rights case in the EU then you are entitled to know your rights in each EU country for every step of the process, from the investigative phase until after the trial.
