Since 1 July 2019, as regards certified translations, Law 45 (I)/2019 has been applied, which provides for the registration and regulation of the services of the sworn translator in Cyprus.

All interested parties for official certified translations, whether private or public bodies, must now go directly to sworn translators, who are registered in the Register of Sworn Translators of the Council for the Registration of Sworn Translators, as provided for in the Law.

According to this Law, ‘certified translation’ means a valid and accurate translation of a written text or document from a foreign language into Greek or Turkish and vice versa, as well as from Greek into Turkish and vice versa, which bears the official stamp of the Republic and which is duly stamped.

Sworn translators translate documents intended for public official use inside or outside Cyprus, such as educational documents, marriage certificates, birth certificates, death certificates, criminal records certificates, passports, identity cards, bank accounts, title deeds, company documents, medical reports, legal documents.

Languages offered: English, Arabic, Armenian, Bulgarian, French, German, Georgian, Danish, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Ukrainian, Persian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Swedish, Norwegian, Turkish, Czech, Croatian, Bosnian, North Macedonia, Latvian, Estonian, Lithuanian and Chinese into Greek and vice versa.
