EU law in general

The European Commission and various other organisations develop training material on European Union law as a whole. These materials are designed to help both legal professionals who wish to study independently to expand their knowledge and understanding and trainers of legal professionals who wish to organise training sessions on EU law or aspects thereof. Information about current and future European legislation can be found on the Commission's website.

Training curricula in several fields of European law, as recommended by the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN)

The European Judicial Training Network has developed training curricula in different fields of European law: administrative law, criminal law, civil law and legal language, as well as for trainers on the methodology for developing and delivering legal training. The training curricula represent basic reference documents and help govern the design and planning of training activities for EJTN's members. They are not textbooks on the topics covered but are designed to serve as practical and helpful guides which trainers can put to use immediately. The curricula are regularly updated by the EJTN sub-groups, which are each responsible for different areas.

The training curricula are available to all interested trainers and judicial training providers on EJTN's website.

Guide to preliminary ruling proceedings before the Court of Justice of the European Union

The Guide to preliminary ruling proceedings before the Court of Justice of the European Union aims to make practical suggestions based on experience acquired in the Netherlands. It provides general information as well as suggestions as to when and how to refer a case to the Court.

The Guide was issued under the supervision of European law coordinators for the Dutch courts. It is intended to be used for information purposes only and is not binding in any respect. It is available in English on the website of the Association of the Councils of State and Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions of the EU (ACA-Europe).

European Commission webcast portal

The Commission regularly broadcasts conferences on the latest developments in different fields of European Union legislation. This may be useful to legal professionals who wish to stay up-to-date in their field(s) and to trainers who wish to illustrate the ideas they are presenting in their training sessions.

Conferences are most often but not exclusively in English.

Live webcasts are announced in advance on the webcast portal and are available on the home page from the scheduled start time. After the live broadcast, the online video-recordings are made available in the archives, and provide an easy-to-use, cost-effective and environment-friendly resource.
