Transposición de la Directiva (UE) 2015/2302 sobre viajes combinados y planes de viaje vinculados. Real Decreto-Ley 23/2018, de 21 de diciembre. Posibles implicaciones prácticas.
On 21 December 2018 was enacted the Royal Decree-Act 23/2018, of 21 December, which among others EU Directives, incorporates into Spanish law the Directive (EU) 2015/2302 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2015 on package travel and linked travel arrangements.
The purpose of this Directive is to harmonise and approximate the existing laws, regulations and administrative provisions of the Member States in order to contribute to the proper functioning of the internal market and to achieve a higher level of traveller protection, taking into consideration the market developments (new ways of combining travel services, the internet…) and the need to enhance transparency and to increase legal certainty.
This article analyses, in a concise manner, the most relevant changes introduced by the Royal Decree-Act, as well as its possible implications and practical consequences for consumers, organisers, retailers and travel service providers.
