The article discusses the significance of Directive (EU) 2019/770, which addresses consumer protection in digital contracts for content and services. It highlights the directive's role in harmonizing laws across EU member states, aiming to facilitate cross-border online commerce and enhance consumer confidence. Despite the directive's importance, the Portuguese transposition through Decree-Law No. 84/2021 falls short of expectations. The article examines some of the choices made by the Portuguese legislature within this framework.
