Unfair Commercial Practices Directive, Annex I

This article provides a summary of the new offences under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 (Regs 8 -12) ("Regulations"). It also considers the offences that directors and other senior officers of companies may commit under the Regulations by virtue of the "consent, connive and neglect" provision . The article also discusses whether the Regulations have achieved the aim of increasing certainty and concludes that in the short term this is unlikely to be achieved.
