Headnote
This thesis is concerned with the regulation of doorstep/off-premises contracts at EU level and the implementation of the relevant EU legislation in Malta and Germany. The author first considers Directive 85/577/EEC and examines the situation before its introduction, the reasons for its introduction, the provisions of the Directive and its shortcomings. She then reviews Directive 2011/83/EU and the changes effected by it. The author analyses the relevant judgments of the Court of Justice of the European Union and concludes by considering the effect of Directive 2011/83/EU in Malta and Germany.
