This article analyses and assesses the provisions of the Polish Act on Consumer Rights which implement Directive 2011/83/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council into Polish law.
The author comprehensively presents the main purposes of the new Act on Consumer Rights and its relation to the provisions of Directive 2011/83/EU. The article discusses the main legal institutions that will enable the better and more effective protection of consumers. The author describes the regulations concerning the seller's informational obligations, the consumer's right of withdrawal, and off–premises contracts concerning financial services
The author also highlights the main changes and modifications in the Polish Civil Code.
