The author focuses on the legal issues of a sale contract according to the law 2251/1994 (for the protection of the consumers), In particular it deals with the provision of guarantee (article 5, law 2252/1994). The supplier has the obligation to provide to the consumer written instructions for the use of the product as well as to inform him regarding the possible risks during the use or maintenance of the product. Moreover, the supplier should provide a guarantee in writing or using any other technical means of imprint that can be available to the consumer. The author further analyses the content of the guarantee, its voluntary (in principle) character, the duration and the legal consequences of it, indicating that the provisions of greek legislation apply in any dispute arising from the sale of consumer products which is brought before Greek courts to the extent that they provide a greater protection to the consumer.
