  • Headnote
This book includes, among other things, a thorough analysis on article 5 of law 2251/1994 (protection of the consumers - sale of consumer goods and guarantees). The author refers to the main obligations of the supplier (obligation to provide information to the consumer about the product’s use and maintenance as well as the associated risks, obligation to inform the consumer about the probable life span of the product) as well as to the provision of the commercial guarantee (conclusion of the guarantee contract, content of the guarantee, ancillary nature of the guarantee). In addition the author focuses on the mandatory obligation to provide a written guarantee for durable consumer products. All the above provisions apply without prejudice to the rights and obligations set in the Civil Code regarding the sale contracts.
