    This book chapter contains a general overview on the consumer protection under Directive 1999/44 and the implementing national law. It provides analysis of the basic concept of the consumer claims, including: nature of the claims, conditions for submission of claims, contents of the claims, terms for submission of claims, terms for satisfaction of claims, etc. The book chapter summarizes part of the relevant court practice. It is intended to serve as student’s coursebook in the area of the Bulgarian Consumer Law. Therefore, it contains questions to be used for individual preparation by students for participation in seminars at the university.
