This paper gives a good overview of the existing European legal framework on consumer rights. It deals with the Common Frame of Reference and the Green paper Review of the consumer acquis. The reactions to the Green paper are discussed as well as the reactions to the separate consultation on distance selling. The intended review of the Price Indication Directive and the Doorstep Selling Directive are also addressed, as well as the then-current proposal for a new Timeshare Directive. Finally, the package travel directive is also addressed.
