This book contains a general overview on the basic provisions of Directive 2005/29 as implemented in Chapter IV of the Bulgarian Consumer Protection Act and a number of case law examples from the practice of the CJEU and the Bulgarian courts. It provides detailed analysis of the discrepancies between the Directive and the national implementation provisions and the ways for overcoming these discrepancies. The book also clarifies the institutional structure of the authorities responsible for enforcing compliance and the relevant administrative and court procedures for prohibiting unfair commercial practices and imposing sanctions.
