This thesis is concerned with the move from minimum harmonisation directives to maximum harmonisation directives in the consumer protection field. As part of this analysis, the author considers Directive 2005/29/EC in detail, together with the EU legislation on product liability and consumer credit. She also considers the average consumer test used in EU legislation.
