In this article the 'old' Directive Package Travel (90/314/EEG) is discussed briefly. The authors explain several reasons for an updated Directive Package Travel. Furthermore, the authors discuss the main features of the new Directive: the definitions of i) 'package travel' and ii) the 'Assisted Travel Arrangement' (ATA). The authors also discuss the difference between both definitions .
