This article informs about the main changes between old consumer protection directives (e.g. Directive 85/577/EEC) and the new directive from 2011. It is focused on harmonisation of consumer protection law. It shows examples, in which cases is the new regulation different from the old directives. It also summarises the new directives and describes its provisions.
