  • Headnote
This article contains a general overview of the harmonization of consumer protection in Croatia with the EU acquis, with mentions of Directives 2009/22/EC, 85/577/EEC and 97/7/EC (among others), their scope of application, (expected) implementation within the Croatian consumer protection framework and alignment with the existing national legislation.

The author gives particular attention to the protection of consumers’ rights, its development in the Croatian legal system and to the relatively discordant and inconsistent transposition of the directives (mainly due to the time limits imposed during the Croatian EU accession negotiations).
