The author discusses the implementation laws in the Netherlands, Belgium and the United Kingdom. The manner of implementation and the instrument used are discussed. As well as whether or not one of the countries made use of the possibility to expand on the directives' scope of application and the optional provisions. The author draws the conclusion that the three member states use the optional possibilities differently, causing the differences in the countries concerning the consumer protection to remain to a certain extend.
