The book deals with consumer protection in Czech private law. The author aims at answering the question how a consumer is protected in Czech private law and how these juridical institutes correspond to the Directives of the European Communities or to the judgments of the Court of Justice of the European Communities. Some propositions de lege ferenda are presented in light of how potential conflicts of rules of the European Communities with the rules of Czech private law could be resolved so that the legal regulation will be brought in accord with the purpose and the contents of the implemented Directives of the European Community.
