The EJTN adopts 9 principles for judicial training of judges and prosecutors
The European Judicial Training Network (EJTN) adopted in June 2016 nine judicial training principles, both as a foundation for the judiciary to manage their training needs and as a framework for the training providers to plan and deliver training for judges and prosecutors. The principles address issues such as whether judicial training is a right and/or a duty of every judge and prosecutor, who is responsible for providing the necessary ressources, whether training should take place during working time, whether initial training at the beginning of the career should be obligatory, who should implement the training for judges and prosecutors, by which methods and for which general topics (also techniques and non-legal issues?). The text of the principles and background information can be found here in English and in French.
