The retail company of electronic products Domo Retail S.A. was sanctioned by National Authority for Consumer Protection for unfair commercial practice following a complaint filed by one of its clients. The client claimed that, after having seen an advertisement published on the company`s website for the campaign entitled "The summer is too hot? At Domo you get <>", he went to one of the Domo shops and purchased a product, with the expectation that he would receive in return RON 10, in cash. However, he received a coupon stating that he could benefit from a discount in the amount of RON 10 which could be used for the purchase of another product.

Following an investigation conducted by the National Authority for Consumer Protection, the company was sanctioned with an administrative fine in the amount of approximately EUR 5,435 and was required to cease the promotional campaign. The National Authority for Consumer Protection considered that the performance of the campaign represented an unfair commercial practice.
