The initial scientific evaluation prepared by a group of legal researchers of the University of Latvia and submitted to the Saeima deals with the assessment of the draft legal act intended to transpose the provisions of the new consumer sale directives 2019. The aim of this evaluation is to assist the national legislator for a better understanding of the regulation of consumer sales during the adoption of the draft legal act in question. One of the aspects considered in the evaluation relates to the comparison of the regulation of consumer sales in the abovementioned directives with the Directive 99/44, i.e., the scope of harmonisation as well as the scope of regulation of a guarantee.
