    The Government Policy Plan for the year 2022 presents the most crucial reforms pursued by the Greek government in the new year for each one of the main policy sectors of the State. Subsequently, it also includes the basic goals regarding consumer protection in the country. It reports the benchmarks set to be realised for a high level of protection and which are, inter alia, the following: (a) development of the National Consumer and Market Council, in relation to the bank, telecommunications and energy charges, (b) recast and consolidation of the consumer legislation, through modification and synchronisation of the institutional framework for consumer protection, (c) incorporation of pivotal Union directives into the national consumer law, meaning 1. the Omnibus Directive (2019/2161), amending Directives 93/13, 98/6, 2005/29, 2011/83 and 2. Directive 2020/1828 on representative actions for the protection of the collective interests of consumers.
