2017 funding priorities in the Justice area have been published

Each year, the Directorate-General Justice and Consumers of the European Commission financially supports projects in the Justice area. The main conditions and priority areas of this year´s funding can be found in the annual work programme of the Link opens in new windowJustice programme and the Link opens in new windowRights, Equality and Citizenship (REC) programme that were published recently.

The Justice programme supports projects on judicial cooperation, judicial training, e-justice, access to justice and on drugs policy. The REC programme supports projects combatting violence to special groups, on rights of the child, data protection, EU citizenship and consumer rights. For each area, a specific call for proposals will follow.

For judicial training, the 2017 priorities concentrate not on thematic, but on structural training topics such as building a cross-border cooperation structure directly between training providers for professions working in the justice area, multilateral initial training activities and study visits to EU courts, training activities with easy linguistic access, for multipliers or across different judicial professions as well as training activities for court staff and bailiffs.
