The Unified Register of Forensic Science Experts covering forensic science experts from Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania has been launched within the framework of the project “Find a Forensic Expert” (JUST/2014/JACC/AG/E-JU/6963) co-funded by the EU Justice programme.
The Register is available from three national interfaces:
https://eksperti.ta.gov.lv/en – Latvian interface
https://kohtuekspert.just.ee/en – Estonian interface
https://ekspertai.ltec.lt/en – Lithuanian interface.
The Unified Register of Forensic Science Experts has been developed by State Forensic Science Bureau of Latvia in co-operation with Estonian Forensic Science Institute, Forensic Science Centre of Lithuania and Lithuanian Police Forensic Science Centre. At the moment it contains information on 796 certified forensic science experts both state and private.
The aim of the register is to promote cross-border co-operation in the field of forensic science. The software developed for the register will be available for other EU countries in order to create their own forensic science expert registers and to join the Unified Register of Forensic Science Experts.
