Withdrawal of the UK from the EU on 1 February 2020

On 29 March 2017, the United Kingdom notified the European Council of its intention to withdraw from the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community (‘Euratom’). In accordance with Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union, the Union negotiated with the United Kingdom an agreement setting out the arrangements for its withdrawal, taking account of the framework for our future relationship (‘Withdrawal Agreement’). The Withdrawal Agreement, as agreed between the Parties in October 2019, entered into force on 1 February 2020 (31 January 23:00 (GMT).
