Headnote
This article addresses the issue of the insurance of the travel agencies. The planned changes in the Czech law fully reflect the Art. 7 of the Council Directive 90/314/EEC and the caselaw of the Court of Justice of the European Union relating to the issue of the insurance of the travel agencies. Earlier there were few cases of financial and payment troubles of travel agencies and there was no legislation, which would deal with the relation between customer and travel agencies in such case. This new law should protect the customer by clear determination of the relations between travel agency, customer and insurance company in case of financial troubles of the travel agency.
