    This article examines the possible impact of sections 73 and 81 of the Irish Consumer Protection Act. Section 73 enables the courts to make compensation orders on behalf of an aggrieved consumer in respect of loss or damage resulting from offences committed under the Irish Consumer Protection Act. Section 81 allows the Irish National Consumer Agency (NCA) to enter into undertakings with traders who have committed prohibited practices to compensate a class of consumers.
