e-Evidence Digital Exchange System

A new tool is being created to support and facilitate judicial cooperation in criminal matters.

In the Council Conclusions on improving criminal justice in cyberspace of 9 June 2016, the Council requested the Commission to develop a secure online portal for electronic requests and responses and the corresponding procedures. The aim is to increase the efficient use of mutual assistance procedures and standardised forms for obtaining electronic evidence,

In response to this request, a reference implementation portal is being prepared which will serve as a tool for secure communication between competent Member State authorities for the purpose of obtaining evidence and providing mutual assistance in criminal matters.
