The article examines the unfair contract terms from the perspective of the 2008 economic crisis, and dedicates an entire section to the examination of the Directive. In particular, it details the policy objectives of 93/13/EEC, the specialties of the legal regime it established, and the interpretative approach of the CJEU. Finally, the author also delves into the Hungarian legislation on the subject, and includes a number of suggestions for further improvement.
