Decree-Law No. 84/2021 transposes in a single diploma Directives 2019/770 and 2019/771, which regulate contracts for the supply of digital content and services and the purchase and sale of tangible movable things. This is a central piece of legislation regarding the regulation of consumer contracts, with significant practical application. The numerous problems of interpretation raised by the wording of the law also justify the preparation of this commentary. On the one hand, the intention is to explain the regime to those who are not familiar with the matter and, on the other hand, to elaborate on some particularly problematic points. The law also regulates the purchase and sale of real estate, the obligation of delivery, the duty to provide after-sales assistance, the producer's liability and the liability of online marketplaces.
