The author investigates the legal value of choice of forum clauses in standard conditions appearing on invoices. The author states that there is no holistic view on this type of clauses (as is the case in other countries), and that it is regulated by fragmented legal provisions including the rules on unfair commercial terms in consumer contracts. This does not mean, however, in the author's view, that the Belgian legal regime is particularly favourable towards such clauses in standard terms and conditions.
