Oude wijn in nieuwe zakken? Modernisering van het Europese consumentenrecht (I) en (II).

This paper deals with the proposal of the European Commission for better enforcement of the European consumer protection rules and the modernisation of these rules and their consistency with the Communication from the Commission 'A new deal for consumers'. In the second part of this contribution, it is examined to what extent the proposals do justice to the results of the 2017 implementation of the fitness check, which was intended to examine to what extent the consumer acquis is still sufficiently equipped for the protection of consumers and enables traders to make use of the internal market.
